Hi dupers,
the twenties are my favorite decade! If I could, like in a Woody Allen film, came back in time this would be my first stop!
The 10th January, in Milan, I had an opportunity very similar to that one.
Thanks to IgersMilano and FAI I could visit the albergo diurno Venezia. And I loved it.
I saw some pictures of it on Instagram so I knew that was amazing.
I try to wear something that suit well with the atmosphere, but at the same time I had to survive at the cold of Milan!
At the end I wore an old coat, a pair of uncomfortable heels, a flowered stockings, eyeliner and lipstick.
This place is in the subsoil of Piazza Oberdan, near the red underground of Porta Venezia.
In this place the travelers of 1920 could rest or clean up, after the trip with the steam locomotive.
In our time we could call this place spa!
When I put the first foot in the Albergo Diurno I felt like a twenties lady, in my mind “Let’s Do It” of Cole Porter, and in my heart the joy!
You really fell like you came back in the 1925!
This place was design by the architect Piero Portaluppi, between 1923 and 1925. It was closed in 2006, after decades of state of abandon. Under the dust there were beautiful furnitures!
After a beautiful work of restoration this place is now open at the public again!
If you will go to Milan you really have to visit this amazing place.
