Goodmorning dreamers,
today I would like to talk about the last two foundations I bought: the Dermablend by Vichy and the Double Wear by Estée Lauder.
I would like to say a few things in advance about the foundation I usually wear in order to let you understand what I want from this kind of product. First of all I demand medium/high coverage because I have some imperfections that I want to cover up, secondly I think that another essential aspect is the long wear since my daily routine is pretty long (at least 12 hours). Let’s start with this double review.
Double Wear – Estée Lauder
I recently bought this foundation because I wanted a product capable of giving me a high coverage but also lighter compared to the one I usually use during winter. Fortunately I had a 25% discount at Marionnaud. First of all I have to admit that this foundation is behaving pretty well! :) This product is presented in a glass bottle that is pretty heavy but very chic. I have to admit that the packaging has a big flaw… it does not have the pump! The product is very liquid so you will have to pay attention when you are pouring it on the back of your hand; you will only need a few of it to cover you whole face with a brush or sponge. Once applied it is absorbed pretty fast and it covers up all the imperfections on my face by itself without creating the terrible “mask effect”. Moreover you can regulate its coverage according to your preferences by creating more layers. The sensation on the skin is pretty light compared to any other foundation I have ever tried, except for the mineral ones from Neve Cosmetics. I tested it even during sunny days and it lasted for 12 hours (and more) without any fallout; the only thing I noticed is that when it is really hot the coverage faded a bit in the last couple of hours. What I appreciated the most about the Double Wear is the great choice of shades they have! The shade I bought is the 2C1 Pure Beige, where the number 2 represents the skin tone, while the letter C stands for Cold my undertone. W stands for Warm, while N stands for Neutral. Thanks to the this variety you can surely find the perfect match for your skink! ;) The price is around 45€ (I paid it 34€ with the discount I had) for 30 ml of product.
Vichy – Dermablend
I almost finished this foundation so I am capable of giving you a more complete vision of it. The product is contained in a simple little plastic tube and you only need to press lightly in order for the product to come out. The Dermablend promises maximum coverage of any imperfections and an amazing lasting power (up to 16 hours). Regarding the first aspect this product has all my approval; the coverage is absolute from the first application, but if you want to be sure your biggest imperfections are completely covered you can use a little brush or a sponge to press a lttle bit of product on those precise zones. Regarding the second aspect I used this foundation for at least 12/14 hours a day (sometimes even 16 hours) and I can guarantee you that there where absolutely no sings of fall outs!! Amazing *.* This foundation has a pretty creamy texture and once applied on your face you will “feel its presence” for sure. It is not a product to use during summer time because with the hot temperature your face will literally melt. A thing I noticed while applying it is that you have to blend it as soon as possible because it tends to dry out pretty quickly. The available shades are only 5, but I was pretty lucky since the number 25 Nude, once absorbed by my skin, matches my natural skin colour pretty well. You can buy this product in almost all pharmacies here in Italy and it costs 20€ for 30 ml of product. I recommend this product to girls who have bad imperfections, like acne, but I think it is also perfect for girls who want to use during special nights out.
